WELCOME TO MY PASSION

My name is John Edward Lewis, Jr.

As a board-certified emergency medicine physician for nearly two decades, I have had the opportunity to practice in a wide variety of underserved communities. My extensive experiences have afforded me many opportunities to start quality improvement and patient-centered initiatives that have ranged from translational science to population health.

I invite you to review my work.

BIOGRAPHY

My projects have focused on poverty relief, community health interventions, and minority health initiatives at the community, institutional, and international levels. The programs and protocols that I have created, developed, and implemented throughout my career have been quantifiably successful by measures of finance, health outcomes, and sustainability.

RESEARCH

Years ago, I left the world of community medicine and returned to academia to apply my experience towards medical education and clinical research.

BLOGS

I co-founded a laypersons health-literacy startup entitled Emergency Medicine Remix with physicians of color hailing from Emory, Cornell, and the Penn. It is a personal project focused on eliminating health disparities in the African American community and vulnerable populations wherever they might exist.

Additionally, I am the founder of Sow Universal. Our mission is to inspire, teach, and commit small acts that will ultimately lead to a greater good. We believe that this can be done through gifts of time, treasure, and talent, and we aspire to motivate action via talks, charities, and technology to bring about a harvest that will benefit all.
