BIOGRAPHY
DR. JOHN EDWARD LEWIS, JR.
The vast majority of my career in science and medicine has been in education, translational technology and science, and program development. I returned to academic medicine to expand my efforts in combating health disparities as they relate to social determinants of health through emergency medicine, health policy, medical education, and technology.
In other words, I left community medicine for academia to create the translational science that I spent the first half of my career implementing. In 2018, my first year of return to academia, I was awarded a highly competitive research scholarship to further develop my work in domestic and international poverty relief into a formal proposal for funding.
