EMREMIX
Using the Power of Music to Talk about Health
In 2019, I cofounded a health literacy startup entitled Emergency Medicine Remix, or EM Remix for short, with physicians of color hailing from Emory, Cornell, and the Penn. EM Remix’s messaging and goals are focused on eliminating health disparities in the African American community and vulnerable populations wherever they might exist.

Music inspires us. It teaches us. It moves us.
Our method is to leverage historically successful platforms of education and entertainment to synergistically harness the skill sets and resources of entertainers, scientists, physicians, and financial and community stakeholders in a manner last seen during the Civil Rights Movement. To date, our efforts have led to collaborations with nationally prominent scientists and physicians, as well as radio and public broadcast television. The goals of these campaigns have included addressing race and violence, raising awareness of colon cancer, and even leading COVID-19 vaccine outreach.
Ultimately, this movement was created to combat misinformation and replace policies that have resulted in generational, structural health inequities. For these reasons and more, we have chosen to accompany our discussions with specific playlists and songs containing sounds and messages that speak to our message, mood, and themes.
SOW UNIVERSAL
Sowing Small Acts to Reap a Greater Good
I have had the opportunity to provide care in the emergency department as well as receive it, study at various colleges and universities as well as teach there, and receive immensely as well as give. Sow Universal is my humble attempt to give back to all.
Sow (pun intended), we are offering our time and talents to provide lectures and seminars for worthy causes. We have presented this timeless concept of sowing and reaping to schools, churches, missions teams, social groups and more.
We are always looking for more opportunities to sow this message of the power of small acts. If you are interested in recruiting our talents or even lending us yours, please visit our website to learn more about our mission and reach out. We would love to hear from you.
